Brand ideation!

  Day 3 🌴

  Having established what branding is, you are probably wondering how to get that idea you would brand or more like what do you have to brand. Before I continue, I need to tell you that more than one brand can stem out of you, you are that endowed for good works. It's although easier to get idea for a business brand, because, you are choosing what to sell, not necessarily creating something new, then adding your own touch here and there.

   Building a personal brand on the other hand, needs a lot of thinking and clarity before setting out. But it also doesn't mean you have to go look for something new someone, you just have to look inwards. Before I continue I will like to reiterate the fact that you don't have to choose a part of you to brand, you can bring you all out and connect the dots and brand.

   For example, Orifunke Lawal, she is a believer, runs an academy where she teaches hard skills, like content creation, design etcetera, she is also a gender equality advocate, all these parts of her are out there for the world to see. They all make up who we know as Orifunke Lawal.

Another example would be Seye Falujo, now Seye  Benjamin Agbo, she is a physiotherapist and a pastor, Jemima Osunde is a physiotherapist and an actress, these parts make them their brand.


  Back to why we are here, Brand ideation. Ideas came stem out of the following facets;

  • Expertise: you can brand something you know you are really good at, this will not only make you a thought leader, it will also generate revenue.

  • Interest: the journey of building my brand started with my desire to see youths grow and embrace personal development. I started by influencing growth through contents and with time I gained more clarity.

  • Education: I know we all just want to finish schooling and move on. But you can also brand your field of study or a tiny bit of it. Learn about that beat and emerge. I have a lecturer who is a food microbiologist but is very interested in quality control, if I was asked to say something about her, I would not go with out mentioning her knowledge on quality control.

   As earlier stated, your idea doesn't have to be new, what it needs is your touch of exposure, experience and voice.

   Your brand idea might be food, sports, purpose, growth, career or God related. Be specific, add your touch and we have a YOU brand.

For business branding, recreate a product, add your story, and voila! You are good to go.
